Reporter Bob Wilton is in search of his next big story when he encounters Lyn Cassady, a shadowy figure who claims to be part of an experimental U.S. military unit. According to Cassady, the New Earth Army is changing the way wars are fought. A legion of “Warrior Monks” with unparalleled psychic powers can read the enemy’s thoughts, pass through solid walls, and even kill a goat simply by staring at it. Now, the program’s founder, Bill Django, has gone missing and Cassady’s mission is to find him. Intrigued by his new acquaintance’s far-fetched stories, Bob impulsively decides to tag along. When the pair tracks Django to a clandestine training camp run by renegade psychic Larry Hooper, the reporter is trapped in the middle of a grudge match between the forces of Django’s New Earth Army and Hooper’s personal militia of super soldiers. In order to survive this wild adventure, Bob will have to outwit an enemy he never thought possible.

I enjoyed the movie, a spoof on what has been actually taking place for several decades. The movie is loosely based on David Morehouse’s book “Psychic Warriar.” Moore himself holds a Masters Degree and a Doctored in education, and actively participated in the program.

You can also read any of Dr. Russell Targ’s books on “remote viewing,” a real program. Dr. Targ was head of Stanford Research Institute who headed the program for the military, department of defense, CIA, etc.

there is a lot more going on out there than what you think! “Hollywood” just has a funny way of conveying messages to the public.

enjoy the movie.

Jerry, a junkyard worker, attempts to sabotage a power plant that he believes is melting his brain. But when his plan goes awry, the magnetic field that he creates accidentally erases all of the videotapes in a local video store where his best friend Mike works. Fearing that the mishap will cost Mike his job, the two friends team up to keep the store’s only loyal customer – a little old lady with a tenuous grasp on reality – from realizing what has happened by recreating and re-filming every movie that she decides to rent. From “Back to the Future,” to “Robocop,” to “Rush Hour,” to “The Lion King,” Jerry and Mike become the biggest stars in their neighborhood by starring in the biggest movies ever made.

The movie started a bit slow, and I was concerned at the beginning. But as soon as the video tapes get erased and they begin remaking them, it really takes off. It was consistently entertaining after that. Jack Black is hilarious, but Mos Def and Melonie Diaz are also very funny without being “wacky.” Mia Farrow, however, seemed like she was acting in a different, more inspirational movie. The ending was touching without being sappy.

I liked the way the film captured the everyday life of regular people while still being funny and interesting.

Two co-dependent high school guys want to hook up with girls before they graduate and go off to different colleges, but, after a calamitous night just trying to buy alcohol for a school party, overcoming their separation anxiety becomes a greater challenge than getting the girls.

This movie made me laugh so much I almost threw up my chocolate covered raisins. Superbad manages in 2 hours to uses every single term for penis and vagina know to man… and I loved every single minute of it. In a world shaped by terrible coming of age stories where the nerds finially fit in through the magic of alcohol, Superbad does the opposite. I have to admit I was a little taken back at first because the previews for this movie do not do justice on how incredibly raunchy the humor is. Not that I’m complaining.

This movie follows the life of 3 main characters, Seth, Evan and Fogell (McLovin), and their quest to find the ever elusive vagina. This movie, with the exeption of dialouge, starts out very un-original with fluke mistakes and miscommunication between characters, and begins following many of the same paths as American Pie. Where this movie starts to seperate themselves very quickly from the rest is director Greg Mottola’s choice to concentrate more on the characters in the story than the story itself. Like I said the story itself is very “cookie-cutter” but like the “40 Year Old Vigin” we really start to fall in love with a group of individually flawed but likeable characters.

Jonah Hill (Seth), of “Accepted” fame, plays a very selfish and domineering character who you realize very quickly is the ring leader of the group. His best friend Evan is played by Michael Cera, who essentially plays the exact same awkward, shy, loveable character he played in “Arrested Development.” These two are joined by Fogell or, as he will be know for the rest of his acting career, McLovin. As far as comedy goes McLovin steals the show, some of the best parts in this entire movie involve McLovin or a McLovin related scene. McLovin has entered the realm of a Cult Hero, the kind of character like Napolean Dynamite that will cause frat boys to wear “McLovin” shirts for the next year.

However, where the average movie goer will walk out of this movie quoting “McLovin” lines, the true greatness of this movie comes out of the relationship between Seth and Evan, 2 characters who are spending what they realize is probably their last summer together. The moment I realized how awesome this movie was, was toward the end where after a long rough night, Seth and Evan have a very awkwardly homosexual exchange brought upon by a drunken stupor, that a few of us guys might be able to relate to in some way. I don’t think this movie is as original as the “40 Year Old Virgin” but follows the same lines by being very smart and suttle with the humor by also engaging us in the lives of these characters. Get ready to laugh your ass off.

After a terrifying biblical apocalypse descends upon the world, a group of strangers stranded in a remote truck stop diner in the Southwest unwittingly become humanity’s last line of defense when they discover the diner’s young waitress is pregnant with the messiah.

It’s the end of the world again and The Lord has decided that mankind is a failed experiment that needs to be wiped out. Luckily for us humans, one angel called Michael (Paul Bettany) decides to not follow orders and believes that humans are still worthy of His Love. So Michael locks and loads, holes up in some desolate diner with the ironic name of Paradise Falls, arming whoever is available in order to help him protect a particular pregnant girl (Adrianne Palicki) who might be carrying the next saviour. Opposing him is supposedly a host of angels who have taken to possessing normal humans and launching an assault against the diner and its occupants.

There’s really little else in way of a plot, so what we have is a rather entertaining little action flick that almost resembles other siege type movies such as Night of The Living Dead or even Assault on Precinct 13. The drama is more on the inside with the ones holding back the horde than the actual horde, be they zombies, gangsters, or in this case, humans possessed by angels. In that, the movie has to rely a little on the characters and in that, there is nothing much to shout about.

Dennis Quaid leads the pack of human who are recruited by Michael. He still delivers an engaging performance in projects he finds of interest (like in Pandorum), although he is ably supported by some talented character actors such as Charles S Dutton and Lucas Black. Even Kate Walsh marginally attempts to break away from her TV persona (in Private Practice) and just about manages. Holding everything together is lead Paul Bettany turning in a very charismatic and captivating performance. He effortlessly carries the movie on his shoulders, humanising his angel well enough.

Bettany would be the main reason for watching this movie although the action sequences would entice a general crowd. While nothing truly spectacular happens, there are moments where what does happen is impressive in some way- an ice-cream vendor’s limbs extend to turn him into a grotesque looking creature, or the scene where the angels are battling it out.

While there are some interesting ideas presented where faith is concerned, the movie doesn’t really have very much else going for it, striking it out and barely making a mark during a period where movies like these are dumped unceremoniously to provide some form of ‘entertainment’ for the audience, asking them to bide their time until the summer blockbusters can be unveiled. Director Scott Stewart does deliver a decent auctioneer with the help of star Paul Bettany, decent enough for the two to pair up again for the upcoming Priest later this year.

Ben Thomas is an IRS agent with a fateful secret who embarks on an extraordinary journey of redemption by forever changing the lives of seven strangers.

Seven Pounds is just like what the trailer indicates, a movie with numerous suprises and also teary moments–and boy there are a lot of them in the film. Will Smith stars as Ben Thomas, who made a tragic mistake in his past and tries to make up for it by helping 7 different strangers, leading up to big time conclusion and secret. Smith, as promised, does not let down with his great performance (Oscar worthy as usual but not acknowledged by the Academy, so what else is new?), very touching as he really gets the audience to feel and sympathize (and maybe even empathize) with him. The movie rides you through a whirl wind of emotions as there are some humorous parts due to Smith’s charm (which is why he is he biggest star in Hollywood right now), but the film mainly is a dramatic and will get you teary eyed. Even if you do not like the movie, you cannot ignore Smith’s great performance—as his performance can carry a movie. Rosario Dawson, Woody harrelson, michael ealy and others also give solid performances. The movie also has a good musical score that compliments the tone that it is trying to install upon the audience. Great movie, loved it.

I saw the midnight showing at a theater in New York to a full house (capacity of about 650), and yea if you are wondering, the audience did clap at the end.

Dont believe the critics who put up negative reviews for the movie, watch it and think for yourself. Seven Pounds is a must watch for the holiday season, i recommend it.

In The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between Edward and Jacob knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

Let’s face it some people are unrealistic. They are complaining that the movie only focused on edward and jacob. Well hello, the entire book is mainly centered around bella, jacob, and edwards love triangle so what do you expect? Some scenes where left out yes, but all the important scenes where kept. Also, the movie was very well structured and not all over the place. People seeing twilight for the first time without reading the books could easily keep up without being confused. The actors really stood out this time around. They brought out the passion in their characters and the visuals where exquisite. I recommend watching it in theatres. It has been the best movie out of all three. I can’t wait to see what they do for breaking dawn. But I do agree with one review watch it during a time where children are not around. The audience commentary and noise is what ruined the experience for me a tad bit. For cutting down a 200+ page book down to only 2 hours the director and script writers did a fabulous job!

Following Bella Swan’s ill-fated 18th birthday party, Edward Cullen and his family abandon the town of Forks, Washington, in an effort to protect her from the dangers inherent in their world. As the heartbroken Bella sleepwalks through her senior year of high school, numb and alone, she discovers Edward’s image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy. Her desire to be with him at any cost leads her to take greater and greater risks.

With the help of her childhood friend Jacob Black, Bella refurbishes an old motorbike to carry her on her adventures. Bella’s frozen heart is gradually thawed by her budding relationship with Jacob, a member of the mysterious Quileute tribe, who has a supernatural secret of his own.

When a chance encounter brings Bella face to face with a former nemesis, only the intervention of a pack of supernaturally large wolves saves her from a grisly fate, and the encounter makes it frighteningly clear that Bella is still in grave danger. In a race against the clock, Bella learns the secret of the Quileutes and Edward’s true motivation for leaving her. She also faces the prospect of a potentially deadly reunion with her beloved that is a far cry from the one she’d hoped for.

I cannot honestly speak for people who haven’t read the books, so for people who have read the series, this review is for you. This movie gave me so many chills, it’s ridiculous. If you understand the characters in New Moon, you will be blown away by how exactly these actors portray them. Everything Robert Pattinson said was the essence of Edward Cullen. Kristen Stewart delivered an astounding performance in a role that I think would be nearly impossible to make feel real (Bella after Edward leaves, of course). And Taylor Lautner was just as loveable as he is in the book (I actually was feeling all “aww” and such…and I’m thoroughly Team Edward.) The wolf pack was charmingly adorable. The Cullens were as terrific as they were in Twilight (so sad their part was so limited). Ashley Greene was fantastic as Alice. And the humans were hilarious! It was great comic relief for the very serious nature of the storyline.

The CGI wolves by the way – genious! Definitely another chill moment when they first showed up. Chris Weitz and the rest of the crew delivered an extraordinary film visually.

This movie was beautiful and heart-wrenching, and if you love the book (and go in remembering that this is an ADAPTATION and cannot be exactly like the book…though it stays VERY close to the story line), you will love this movie.

I would definitely pay money to see this movie again…a few more times.

The thing that people probably won’t like about Tim burton is the fact that sometimes he can make his movies a little too dark. Alice in Wonderland may have its moments where it can be a little too grown up for children, but that’s Tim Burton’s message to us about life: its never going to be a bright world; there always going to be speed bumps and stop signs.

I wish not to do any spoilers so i just say this, the plot of Alice and Wonderland isn’t original, but its unique enough to be so. The acting superb, making us feel the sense that the characters have. Tim burton’s direction is amazing, making sure everything is in order: from the smallest dust mite to the largest computerized sequence. Thats where the visuals take place. the movie’s visuals are brilliant, so brilliant that they are near-real. Maybe not as realistic as Avatar, but still they’re awe-inspiring.

I loved this movie, and i would strongly recommend this to anyone who wishes to go a movie that will not only be worth your money, but it’ll warm your heart; another part of Tim Burton’s Job.

Juno is a whip-smart teen confronting an unplanned pregnancy by her classmate Bleeker. With the help of her hot best friend Leah, Juno finds her unborn child a “perfect” set of parents: an affluent suburban couple, Mark and Vanessa, longing to adopt. Luckily, Juno has the total support of her parents as she faces some tough decisions, flirts with adulthood and ultimately figures out where she belongs.

If you’re a 16 year-old girl, and you live in a culture where your parents basically let you raise yourself, it would be helpful if you’re creative, daring and wise, like Juno. Well yeah she gets herself knocked up, but this movie isn’t about moral quandaries of the past- it’s about what you do after you screw up, it’s about what you do when the whole world was already screwed up before you even got here. And what Juno does is fight hard to live lightly, to find people worth loving, and to do the right thing, when the right thing to do isn’t always apparent. If you’re a teenager, Juno’s story can help you grow up a bit, grow up in a good way. And if you’re a grown-up, her story might help you remember what it was that you were supposed to be looking for in the first place.
